How Yoga Invites Connection & Healing
Yoga was a helpful part of my personal recovery from an eating disorder. I initially started taking classes a few years after I started my recovery, looking for a physical activity that was new and not part of the exercise addiction I experienced when I was in college. The physical practice soon evolved into a deeper, healing experience as I learned how to show myself compassion and my body kindness. I pursued yoga teacher training and taught for many years.
Later in life, after a relapse and recovery, I studied to become a yoga therapist, as this profession would provide extensive training and allow me to work closely with individuals, sharing the tools, practices, and philosophies of yoga to support them in the shifts they wish to make in their lives. At the time of my training, I didn’t plan to work with others in eating disorder recovery, but over time, I came to embrace the fact that this was exactly the population I was meant to work with. Yoga therapy is a powerful complement to the work clients do with their other care providers, such as a therapist and dietician.
I am currently accepting new yoga therapy clients, and I would love to chat with you if you would like to learn more. For a free one-on-one consultation for yoga therapy, I invite you to schedule here: https://ecs.page.link/hoHbb
